Submit your Manuscript for the JSE Special Issue: Leading Change for a more Civil Society
The Journal of Scholarly Engagement (JSE) invites submission of manuscripts for a special issue focused on examples of faculty leading change in the broader community.
This application of leadership aligns well to the Boyer Model of Scholarship, and specifically to the call of Ernest Boyer for academics to step off the university campus and into social, civic, moral, and economic realms “to participate in building of a more just society and to make the nation more civil and secure” (Boyer, 2016, p. 18). It is leadership that is focused on applying disciplinary knowledge to make a difference in the world beyond the university campus.
The editorial staff and guest editor invite prospective authors to submit manuscripts for publication consideration in JSE that address and discuss initiatives or areas of professional practice that are undertaken to create change somewhere in the world, whether in, or through, communities, non-governmental organizations, education, civic or social organizations, or governmental entities. The format should follow one of the three JSE manuscript types:
- Reflective practice
- Professional profile, or
- Community engagement portfolio.
For more information about these manuscripts types or the special issue, please see the special issue guide.
The anticipated publication date for this special issue is November 2020. To submit your manuscript for publication consideration, view the submission guidelines at the following link: https://scholarlyengagement.com/home/submit
Deadline for submission: June 30, 2020.
